This week we celebrate the Class of 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony here in Cleveland on Saturday, April 14, 2018! This year’s inductees include Bon Jovi, the Cars, Dire Straits, the Moody Blues and Nina Simone. The induction ceremony will be broadcast on HBO at a later date.
Artists are eligible for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first commercial recording. This year’s class of inductees were chosen by more than 900 voters, as well as the aggregate results of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s online fan vote. I was one of the fans that voted!
The first class of inductees was in 1986 and included Chuck Berry, James Brown, Buddy Holly and Elvis Presley to name a few. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame opened in Cleveland on September 2, 1995.
