Tour Route and Length

  • Our Downtown Highlights and the Cleveland From the Inside walking tours begin at Public Square and end at Playhouse Square.
  • Our Downtown Public Art tour both begins and ends in Public Square.
  • Routes for all tours may vary due to events going on downtown. Some stops on the tour offer the opportunity for participants to sit. Tours are rain or shine.
  • The Downtown Highlights and Downtown Public Art walking tours are approximately 2 hours in length. The Cleveland From the Inside walking tour is 2.5 - 3 hours in length with a small break period.

Meeting Spot

Our walking tours meet in Public Square in front of the statue of Mayor Tom Johnson. The statue is located on the north side (closest to the lake) of the square, in the middle. It is across the street from Old Stone Church.

There are multiple garages and surface lots in downtown Cleveland as well as some street parking. Each varies in price depending on the weekday, time of day and events going on downtown. Best Parking is a great website to use to compare parking prices for garages and surface lots. Please note, street parking is free on Saturdays, Sundays and major Holidays.

Returning to the Starting Point

Of course you can always walk back up Euclid Ave to return to Public Square from Playhouse Square. It is about a 10 – 15 minute walk depending on your pace. When running: Hop on the city’s free E-Line Trolley (Monday - Friday) along Euclid Ave and ride it back to Public Square. On the weekends the C-Line Trolley will take you back to Public Square although it is not as direct. The Downtown Public Art tour ends where it begins.

What to Wear

Face masks will no longer be required on our walking tours, outside or inside the buildings we currently visit. Please note, building policies could change and a mask may be required to enter a building, having one with you is suggested.

On your tour of Cleveland the most important thing to remember is to – wear comfortable shoes! The tour is outside for the most part so dress comfortably for the weather. Always recommended – bring some water to stay hydrated. Tours are rain or shine, so bring an umbrella if it looks like rain.

Only a service animal as defined by the American Disabilities Act (ADA) is allowed to accompany guests on tours.
