Christmas on Public Square

Terminal Tower on Public Square at Christmas

Public Square is one of the most festive spots in all of Cleveland at Christmas time! The prep work begins back in October to get ready for Winter Fest which kicks off the season with the tree lighting and fireworks the Saturday after Thanksgiving. It will remain lit and festive throughout the month!

All the trees in Public Square are covered in colored lights with the main tree, fully decorated and lit. There are light tunnels, a nativity and the ice staking rink! The ice skating rink is open every day throughout the rest of the year as well special days in January and February.

Check out the “Instaspots” like the posing polar bears and the giant snowflake which provide great photo opportunities for your Instagram postings. Don’t forget the iconic views of Terminal Tower, lit in its Christmas glory! Day or night it is a wonderful place to be for the holidays.

Downtown Highlights Christmas Edition Walking Tour

Our Christmas tours begin in Public Square. There we talk about some of the history of Cleveland like Millionaire’s Row and the winter time sleigh races and the first church in the US to have a Christmas tree in the sanctuary – Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, right here in Cleveland. We continue to explore the Christmas traditions from the old department stores on our stroll down Euclid Ave. The tour includes a free hot chocolate! Learn more, see our schedule and book your tour at www.toursofcleveland.com.
