Castle Noel in Medina

Castle Noel in Medina, OH

Castle Noel is the largest indoor, year round, Christmas entertainment attraction in the US. The “castle” was created by Mark Klaus and is built in an old Methodist church in downtown Medina, about 30 miles south of Cleveland.

It features props from Christmas movies like “Elf” and “Christmas Carol” to name a few. One room is full of nothing but Christmas ornaments, thousands of colored balls all over the walls and even the ceiling. One of my favorite rooms is the “I Had That” room, full of old toys and games that span the decades. It is fun walking through and finding toys that you had as a kid.

Department Store Window Displays

A large part of the Castle is devoted to the window displays from NYC famous department stores – Sak’s Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor and Macy’s. The owner, Mark Klaus, has traveled to New York to take possession of department store window displays after the season is over and bring them back to be featured at Castle Noel.

My favorite window display has scenes from around the world – New York, Paris and Rome to name a few. Most of the displays are animated and tell a story. They are quite impressive and combined with all the movie props and Christmas fun, they do truly make Castle Noel a must see!
