This past week I was in Bay Village and stopped by Huntington Reservation to take a look at frozen Lake Erie. It was an amazing view. Huntington Reservation is part of the Cleveland Metroparks system. The site includes what looks like a lighthouse but is in fact a water tower. The tower was built by John Huntington in the 1880’s. It was used to help irrigate his orchards, vineyards and estate.
Today the spot provides excellent views of Lake Erie and downtown Cleveland. Year round it is an excellent spot to visit but I recommend in the winter so you can catch frozen Lake Erie!
