- Next year, in 2019, the Cleveland Public Library will celebrate its 150th anniversary.
- The Cleveland Public Library is the third largest public research library in the country. Number one is the Library of Congress in Washington, DC and number two is the New York Public Library.
- The main downtown building opened in 1925 and the adjoining Louis Stokes Building opened in 1997.
- The library has books written in over 45 different languages, including Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Hungarian, Thai, Turkish, Urdu and Finnish, just to name a few!
