Last night I had the privilege of seeing Plain Dealer reporter and author, Laura DeMarco, at the Olmsted Falls library discussing her new book, Cleveland – Then and Now. Last year, Laura DeMarco wrote Lost Cleveland. Lost Cleveland focused on the buildings and places that are no longer in Cleveland, such as Millionaire’s Row, the Hippodrome Theater and the Sterling Linder Department Store, to name a few. I have used her book as part of my own research for my Downtown Highlights walking tours of Cleveland.
Laura Demarco’s new book, Cleveland Then and Now looks at those places that are still here in Cleveland and how they have changed over the years, like Public Square, the Cleveland Trust Bank Building and League Park. I love both her books and her passion for the history of this great city of ours. I recommend checking out both her books and if you have the opportunity, to catch her talk!
