Continuing our thank you to those businesses that support Tours of Cleveland, LLC, I would like to thank Heinen’s downtown for opening their doors to our tour groups. You just can’t have a walking tour of downtown without visiting the inside of the Cleveland Trust Company Building which today is Heinen’s.
As I tell our guests this is not like any other grocery store you have seen. The building dates back to 1907 and it spent most of its life as a bank. In 2015, Heinen’s moved into the building where they occupy the first and second floors. The building is designed by George Post (New York Stock Exchange), the stained glass dome is by Nicolas D’Asenzo and the 13 murals depicting the founding of the New World and Cleveland are done by Francis Millet.
Again, a must see on any tour of downtown Cleveland. The staff is always so friendly to myself and my guests. It is a great place to grab lunch as well. Thank you Heinen’s Downtown.
