This past Saturday, July 14, 2018 was the official ribbon cutting for the new Welcome to Tremont mural. The mural was painted by artists Vic Savage and Alan Giberson on the side of the Tremont Convenience Food Mart owned by Omar Khanfar. It is located at 2630 West 14th Street, close to Lincoln Park. The project was sponsored by the local non profit Graffiti HeArt. The Tremont mural welcomes visitors to the historic neighborhood of Tremont and highlights some of the cool, spots including the famous leg lamp from the Christmas Story House, the Cleveland script sign and the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
The ribbon cutting featured the artists, the store owner, Graffiti HeArt President, Stamy Paul and Ward 3 Councilman, Kerry McCormack. The Tremont mural will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood as well as Cleveland’s public art scene, joining greats like the Greetings from Ohio Postcard mural in Ohio City, the Rock boxes in downtown and the iconic Free Stamp in Willard Park.
